"Oh that's nothing. When I was exiled I was in one for over a week."

[Natalie Denisov]

"That's... well... I suppose I'm not one to talk about getting absorbed into things for long periods of time."

[Shari]

"It just takes time to really absorb someone's whole... way of being. This is more of a quick peek."

[Natalie Denisov]

"Hopefully it works out. If you need out, just bang on the tank and we'll get you out of there."

[Shari]

"Sounds good!" she says as she starts stripping out of her clothes with little regard for decency.

[Natalie Denisov]

Natalie seems to have that brief, immediate reaction that most people have of 'I shouldn't watch', been then seems to reconsider and watches anyway.

[Shari]

Shari snickers slightly at her initial reaction, indicating she at least somewhat did it on purpose. Then she scoops up the pasty mush she made, which has taken on a light-brown-grey-ish color and starts drawing intersecting lines and circles on herself with it. Some of it seems like it could be Skrull writing but mostly it's just geometric designs.

"That's... kind of cool," she says quietly, as if she's scared to mess up Shari's concentration.

[Shari]

"Ancient Skrull ritual markings." she says in a similarly hushed tone. "You can connect the ones on my back if you want."

[Natalie Denisov]

"Should they look like these?" She says, eyes recording the designs... for duplication purposes, honest.

[Shari]

"It's more about the paint and the act itself, less so the symbols."

[Natalie Denisov]

"Okay," Natalie says, taking some of the material and beginning to draw designs on Shari's back.

[Shari]

As Natalie finishes the markings Shari quietly chants something to herself. First in the unfamiliar guttural language of her people, then in an approximate translation.

"You are a worm though time. The thunder song distorts you. Happiness comes. White pearls, but yellow and red in the eye." she chants and Natalie can tell the muscles and bones underneath Shari's skin are subtly beginning to move.

"I build you till nothing remains. Leave your insides by the door. Push the fingers through the surface into the wet. You’ve always been the new you." Her skin ripples as green, patchy skin shifts through a series of colors and textures.

"You want this to be true. You can almost hear our words but you forget. You have always been here, the only child. A copy of a copy of a copy." Shari's familiar face distorts into that of a different Skrull. And another. And another.

"The hole in space is a hole in you. You came and I let you in through the hole in you. The picture is you holding the picture. When you hear this you will know you’re in new you." she finishes as she climbs up and into the tank, face still changing, body rearranging and skin fading from one color to the next.

Natalie wipes her hands off as the tank seals and looks over to where Caretaker has appeared. "Now, I guess, we wait. Start the music cycle."
