After returning from the Citadel, Natalie appears in the control center of the Point, sitting down in a chair, mostly for appearance's sake, and summoning several hard light screens that she begins pulling up various bits of information on.

"We have yet to cease existing, so I suppose your talk with the Citadel administration didn't go terribly awry?"

"It... went..." Natalie says, tossing some data onto a side screen with a heading of "Wizards" in quotation marks. "I was told that some dimensions have developed shielding against dimensional energy... and we're not allowed to have it because it could wreak havoc with our own dimension's technological development."

"Disappointing. Understandable, but still. I suppose this disdainfully titled file is part of their suggestion?" she asks, glancing at the 'Wizard' data.

"It's not their 'best' offered option, but their 'best' option carries other strings. They said that one of the things our dimension was crawling with was 'magic' and that it could be utilized. But we'd need someone we could trust and I don't think the backup Natalie that spent the last 300 subjective days LARPing a fantasy roleplaying game in her quarantine bubble is going to cut it." The file itself was sparse, mostly cursory search research and a list of local individuals the school was aware of who claimed to have magic starting with Wanda, Vivienne, Sean, and Erica.

"Those are all options who I suspect either don't have the right expertise or are not particularly trustworthy." she frowns. "I'll accept a certain amount of inherent risk and I'm certainly willing to let Wanda and Vivienne try if they think they can come up with something, but I'll admit I'm not thrilled with our options."

"We could try talking to the being that Vivienne claims as her mother who claims to be the Lady of the Lake, but the Citadel cautioned that her kind tend to be stuck in their own stories and way of thinking." She sighs, "According to the Citadel, the best option is to select a new Captain Britain as they're given the power to patrol the borders of dimensions..."

"Isn't that something that falls under their purview? I'm not sure I feel qualified to select a new member for their corps, assuming anybody would even volunteer. Anybody who would not just want it for the power."

"Apparently, it's within my power to initiate, though there's a choice to be made by the candidate which... I'd be worried about influencing. But I can't, in good conscience, make someone else beholden to the Citadel."

"I would hope it's within their power to refuse as well. Then again, that wasn't so much the case with the Mastermind role." she nods.

"In theory, I believe they could refuse. Do you want me to look for a candidate?"

"Keep it in mind I suppose but for now I think our efforts are best focused elsewhere. If we don't have a reliable wizard or a Citadel-sanctioned policeman we'll have to make do with technology."

"No one I would put the fate of an hazardous exploratory mission in the hands of, no. They're all either self-admittedly inexperienced or the mission briefs don't engender trust in them." She sighs, "Sorry."

"Hardly your fault. We'll make do. Asking the Citadel was a long shot anyway."

"Not sure what else to do now. The specs for the Citadel Gateway are in the secure share. If Will's going to be the vessel, submarine, whatever, there's really no operating system for me to code. I'll keep scouring the records to see if we find something, but I think I'm of more use taking on extra network responsibilities to free you up."

"I appreciate it. I can't, in good conscience, hand over administrative duties for the school over to a student entirely." she chuckles. "But between you and Administrative Assistant Will you should be able to handle most of it. You've probably noticed them on the network, Will tends to have a rather... unique digital signature."

"I had noticed the new account. We'll do our best to triage, I'm sure," she says.
