Leo led Ainsley to the holding area. In the last cell were the two creatures, one pacing restlessly while the other just sat there. They were wearing makeshift blinders and were bandaged where Leo's tail had stabbed them. Their ears perked up and they growled as they heard the pair approach.

"We aren't sure if the mutant power dampeners would work, so we had to put those on them to block their teleportation."

"This might take a minute." Ainsley replied, sitting down on the floor.

"I've got nowhere to be," he said, settling down to observe.

Ainsley would start his discussion with the 'dogs', evidenced in the fact that one of them turned his head directly at Ainsley and snarled. He didn't seem to falter any at the threat, and continued their silent conversation.

"Well, they definitely don't like you much." He joked.

He chuckled, "Tell em the feelin is mutual, but I won't bite if they don't."

Ainsley smirked, then sat quietly again for awhile. Eventually, he furrowed his brow and spoke to Leo again. "Where did you say you all found these things again?"

"Patrollin the halls of an underground facility called Wonderland. The assholes who run the place have a huge Lewis Carroll fetish."

"They keep threatening me to return them home, but what they are describing as home is not indicative of an indoor environment."

"What? Are they from actual Wonderland?" he joked.

"I mean... maybe?

They're describing a natural existence.... not an artificial one... Could it be possible they aren't something manufactured?"

"If they aren't, they sure aren't from anywhere on Earth. Cuz no animal I know of besides humans have powers."

Ainsley sat quietly as he stared at their captives.

"Early on when I started here, I was taken along on a mission into some sort of... realm of the elves or some magical shite.

I'm not saying they're from there specifically, but I know from that, other worlds exist. Hell, the person I followed here ended up being a bloody alien.

Maybe they're from somewhere like that?"

"Could ask Shari if she's ever heard of something like them. Or just wait until the science people get around to the samples they took."

"Probably option two. Not that Shari wouldn't try to help, but that feels a bit 'all aliens know each other' for my liking."

"Yeah," he admitted, "It definitely does sound like that."

"Did you ask them how they got to the facility? Caught or tricked or whatever."

Ainsley fell silent to Leo for several more moments.

"Sounds like captured."

"Okay, so they existed somewhere before the Wonderland people got them. I know animals probably aren't good with descriptions but how exactly did they refer to where they were before?"

"Jungle-y? Forest-y?

Creatures that don't have words aren't very good at in depth descriptions."

"Savage Land maybe? Ask if there were really big lizards."

This one took awhile.

"They don't seem to know what a lizard is."
