"The periscope? Ashlie's configuring that to be a sensor array of sorts, so we can see what the hell is going on out there once we get there.

Or did you mean the netronium? It's part of the last Titan that attacked; it has a strange...resonance, with me. It's what allowed me to communicate with the Sparks; it's what gave me access to the sea and to Calilleach.

I don't really understand any of it, other than it makes me feel good."

"Theoretically? When activated by the superconductor brackets placed around it should cause a quantum resonance that will let us pass into Exospace and generate an ontological field turning potential into reality. Hopefully based on the circumstances introduced by being emitted from a submarine and thus skewing the quantum-collapse towards a compatible environment. Assuming that theory holds a lesser energetic induction should serve as a sonar effect that we'll be able to pick up on Tosh's mutant signature scanners in the hull as it refracts off of Sparks, allowing us to navigate."

"And I'm also hoping Will's affinity to the Neutronium shard will... help. Somehow."

"I'm just trying to figure out what would happen if he did absorb it."

"I haven't the slightest idea. The Neutronium doesn't behave in accordance with normal physics and neither does Will."

"I'm sure everything will be fine. One way or another. Change is just part of life."

"As long as it doesn't disappear. This is not exactly something we can easily replace." she says as she opens up the periscope column and sets the Neutronium lodestone into it's place.

"You eat this and we'll have to somehow wrest one from another Titan." she says as she closes the panel and slides the periscope up and into place.

The walls of the submarine shuddered and creaked as Ashlie finished installing the neutronium, static popping over the intercom as the displays went haywire for a moment, then silenced.

"That didn't seem pleasant."

"D...different strokes," the submarine gasped.

"It didn't break everything, so that's a good start."
