Scientific Wonderland

Even though he had taken a nap, Tosh needed a break from science...

... to work on other science!

Tosh had prepared a sample from the two creatures from Wonderland and had earlier put it into the DNA sequencer. It had since finished and he was currently poring over the results with the help of an algorithm designed to tell him about things such as signs of genetic tampering and the presence of the X-Gene or other genetic markers associated with special abilities.

Firstly, Tosh wouldn't find any evidence of scientific tampering in the slightest. Which tracked. If you were going to splice a dog to teleport, you probably wouldn't intentionally give them the restriction of having to see where they go.

They didn't carry an X-Gene either, though there were many unaccounted for genetic markers he hadn't seen before, leading him back to the suggestion that these creatures were natural to somewhere, but not here on Earth.

He checked for signs of extraterrestrial origins. If that produced nothing definitive, he would trek down to the cells to scan them for foreign dimensional signatures. It seemed more likely than aliens, given recent happenings.

Tosh's tests indeed lead him to believe these beings were extra-dimensional, not extra-terrestrial.

"Figures," he groaned, sighing, "But at least they aren't Titans."

He texted Ainsley, since he had been waiting for the results.

> Finally got around to examining the creatures. From what Leo told me, you were right. They are indeed from somewhere far, far away. Another reality even. These Wonderland people are either far more advanced than we thought or they've stumbled upon a rift of some kind.

Tosh got a message back fairly quickly.

Two things can be true.

But really, somehow I doubt they are. Leo made it sound like one errant X-Team member caught them with their pants down.

Using something they found does sound more probable than breaching reality often enough that they are familiar enough with the other side to go pet shopping. There are easier ways to get guard dogs. Though that probably isn't all they're using it for.

"Probably not.

Did you guys get anyone who has seen this other place, by chance?"

You'll have to ask your boyfriend. But I think they caught a henchman. Not sure where they sent him.

I mean, I'm not that invested in this, but that's who I'd be looking to next.

I'll get him on the scent.
