X-23 is in the briefing room, sitting on the table next to what appears to be a tupperware container that occasionally shakes in protest.

Sean walked into the briefing room after having talked to the headmistress on the phone. He say in the front looking a little worse for wear after having channeled too much magical energy to close the tear in reality and then getting into a magical melee, alongside Vivienne, with the blight beast.

Next time I should just enjoy the rest of my vacation I think. Ignore the weird feeling and the desire to find out what could be causing it.

Nailah is sitting up front, looking like she's trying really hard to look like she's serious and ready to go, despite the fact that her bandaged hand is beginning to pulse with dull pain now that the painkillers that had taken over for the adrenaline are slowly running out of steam. But she'll be damned if she's gonna miss this. Especially when glancing at the captured Imp that Miss Kinney had praised her for and grinning does a pretty good job to distract her from the pain.

Sean stood up though being called an expert made him a little nervous. As he walked to the front he looked at the imp hoping to at least be able to classify it so that he didn't look like an idiot.

"A weakening in the veil that seperates our realm from well, several realms of magical beings, allowed for a decent number of them to gather together and breach it," Sean said, "Including one significantly larger one that Vivienne and I fought on the quad, which referred to itself or the invaders collectively as the Blight."

Sean paused for a moment realizing he'd started at the end rather than the beginning of the story.

"Apologies, my name is Sean HAll and the breach in the veil leaked a significant amount of magical energy into the environment. The energy leak was large enough that I could detect it in Wales and decided it was probably best to investigate why reality had sprung a leak. When I arrived I found the source of the leak was the Braddock lighthouse, which is conveniently or inconveniently a giant magical focus, and temporarily sealed the breach. Then along with Vivienne began tracking the blighters that had come through the breach. After killing the big one at the maze I'm fairly certain I can banish the others back to their home plane."

"I could try to attract them, but there's no guarantee it would work on all of them. I also don't want us to fight an entire pestilence of pixies at once. I'd suggest hunting them one at a time," Sean said, "I can help with tracking them down by giving each group a familiar to help. Then me and Vicienne can help teams in person if they get in over their heads."

At first X-23 just watches her, but when Sam picks the container up she noticeably tenses. She's not about to stop anybody from taking a look at the thing, but on some level she's wired to fight and the possibility of those creatures being able to enthrall someone (or for Sam to be clumsy) is something she's prepared to act on if she has to. It's probably not even that noticeable unless someone is watching her closely, but to Sam it might stand out.

Sean was watching Sam closely not really sure what to think of somebody wanting to well, interrogate the imp. Particularly since he'd assumed that the only other magically inclined person at the school was Vivienne. He decided to push a little bit to see if it was in fact magic or something else entirely.

"No listen! No listen to..." and then the rest was rather unitelligable, but sounded like a number of particularly nasty curses.

"You no power! No power here."

There's something off about Sam to Sean's probing, though whether it's magic is hard to tell. What he would get is the briefest image of ravens all around him, perching on any available surface in the room.

This got Vivienne's attention. Her eyes changed as she watched Sam and the imp. There were "stories" about fey being driven mad and "changing". The large beast had reminded her of a Hellhound of The Wild Hunt.

Now that's bloody odd

Sean thought to himself as he looked around the room catching the glimpse of the ravens and did something maybe foolish, but nobody likes the idea of being watched by invisible things especially when you're fighting an invasion of magical creatures already. He tried to dispel magic in his immediate vicinity by trying to push it out, in effect making reality more... real. Hoping that doing so would force something out of hiding if it didn't have ambient magic to fuel an illusion.

Sean looked at Vivienne and then back at Sam. His face was impassive, but he discontinued pressing at least for the moment. There'd be time to do something to address Sam and the strange signature that he felt. However, he was on edge now there were just too many unknowns to be at ease.
