I Beg To Dream And Differ

[Tereza Rozanov]

After getting out of the infirmary, Tereza had declared they needed some relaxation, so she'd dragged Vivienne to get a swimsuit of her own and now she had dragged Vivienne to the Danger Room for a beach program. She settled onto the simulated sand into the simulated sun and sighed happily.

Vivienne looked akward, of course should could wear a burlap sack and still look ready for the runway, but the sheer lack of clothing called a swimming suit was shocking. Even though the one she had chosen was "modest" in modern terms.

"Are you certain this is appropriate to wear in public?" Not like there was anyone else there at the moment, there could be later.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Appropriate for the pool or the beach... or the sauna or the hot tub. There's a number of public places it's appropriate for." She smiled, "Besides, you look wonderful in it." She stripped off the t-shirt she'd worn over here, revealing some of the tattoo on her back.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Thank you." she looked out over the expanse of the beach and water.

"This is a much better beach for sunbathing." She laid beside Tereza.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Better weather for it to at this point in the year," Tereza said, leaning back and slipping on some sunglasses.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"And far more comfortable then most of the English coast." She rolled onto her stomach and dug her hands into the sand.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"The real question is will I tan or burn," Tereza said with a chuckle.

"I have been told the Danger Room has settings to avoid true damage. Either way I think you will tan. Samantha would speckle and burn even with precaution settings."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"The perils of red hair and fair skin," Tereza said, laughing.

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"There would be a moment where she would glow and enchant then we would have to bath her in boiled oats for weeks." She smiled and rolled onto her back.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza closed her eyes for a bit and her breathing slowed for a bit. Then she spoke up again, "So are there beaches where you're from?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"In places. Both rocky and sandy. My mother's lake is very much like a lake in the summer here in England. Most regions are not for casual visiting, they are more a kin to private property."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"So do humans ever go to that side of things?"

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Before, sometimes. Mostly seriously lost travelers and overly ambitious magic users. A very few invited."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"So people who don't want to be there and people who shouldn't be there, in general."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"There has always been thin places between the worlds. The right time and place, the right "song" sung in a drunken haze, each one has a different set of requirements in order to pass through."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Kind of disturbing that you could just stumble into these things, but I guess that's like a lot of stuff these days."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"It did not happen often and in those days there was a much stronger oral tradition, songs work best in human minds, but eventually human magic began to dwindle and the songs stopped working as they once did so they just became silly songs. Every few decades or so someone would be close enough to a thin place and the fey magic would take over for the lack of human magic."

[Tereza Rozanov]

She nodded, "So far, short of you, I'm not particularly fond of the fey. I still have the needle that fucking red cap stabbed me with on the desk in my room."

[Vivienne Chinnoir]

"Yes, I am sure that was most definitely not an enjoyable encounter, but try not to be too quick to judge. I have been giving it much thought and the Fey are much like wild large predators, with the added complication of having self-awareness. They are what they are. You can not make a tiger into house pet, nor should it be blamed for what it eats and just like animals, close proximity to humans can be devastating...for both."

"I suppose. And I'm not ruling out the possibility of pleasant encounters. After all, you're here," she teased. "Just, speaking from my current experience, that's all."
