Ashlie hesitates for a moment. She would have preferred not to tell Will since there's a distinct possibility that the satellite is meant to observe him, but she's also not going to lie to him.

"There's what I assume is a spy satellite in geosynchronous orbit above the university. It was moved there a while ago from it's previous location above Antarctica."

With that, Will bent over and shrunk, twisting and solidifying, into a small black box, ready to be connected to various terminals or other computing devices.

It seems a little silly to be secretive about it when he's about to be hooked into the computer system, especially in the Point, only one layer separated from her mainframe, but she resigns herself to merely using the box and not prying into it's makeup. She already feels a little guilty about withholding her thoughts from him, even if it's for the better. She hooks up the machine to one of the terminal and routes the satellite dish controls through it. It takes her a couple minutes to recalibrate the dish before patching the, hopefully correctly modulated, signal through to the satellite.

This was going to be interesting. With Will interspersed she can't directly engage the system with her own protocols, which always feels strange. On top of that the delay, as miniscule as it is, feels strange to her. Part of the reason why she doesn't like leaving school grounds. The more distance and nodes she puts between herself and her body the more removed from everything she feels. Sending commands to the jet's autopilot that way is one thing, but now she's trying to operate a complex machine from the other side of the room with a long stick. A stick that has a mind of it's own.

"Will, can you patch some code through as it is?" she asks as she tries to put together a small program that'll piggyback on an access request. Without physical access it's almost impossible to break into the process checking her authorization, so she can't reverse-engineer proper credentials. And with Will between her and the satellite and the inherent delay it'd take forever to brute-force. But she can still employ a couple tricks inherent to her electronic nature. Her package contains a series of electronic credential packages, all composed of different types of keys. If she finds the right format the delay in the negative response should be longer as the system checks the contents.

"It needs the correct access key. A password. By providing it with a specific selection I can gauge it's reaction time to each and try to deduce what characteristics it's looking for. Just push the program I'm sending you through and pay really close attention to how fast it turns them down, then send the one it thought about the longest back to me."
