Will stormed through the central door of the point, smashing through a wall with a well-placed kick. He punched into a wall and ripped out some circuitry, causing short circuits and sparks to fly everywhere as he ripped out important-looking computer equipment and sensors...


...Or, at least, that's what was going on in the Danger Room. Will had loaded up a simulation of the University proper, and with a couple of tweaks, made everything a lot easier to smash. It was good for a cathartic release, apparently, and that's what he was doing: releasing a hell of a lot of pent up energy as he broke things. Lots of things.

"...this is why we can't have nice virtual things," Sam says as she makes her way in. She seems to have calmed down a bit.

Will whirled, breathing heavily. "Sam! Oh, uh. Hi. Sam. What are you...

Hi."

"Heard a bit of a racket."

"Are you... alright?"

"Um. I'm...I'm fine.

It's been a day, and this is one of the best ways to actively let off steam."

"Ah, I... had to find other ways to cool down."

"I hope we find out... whatever this is. I can't read Tereza now either."

"Well, that's just flipping fantastic," Will swore. "Maybe after another 20 damn hours of poking and prodding, they'll figure out how to counteract this shit."

"It's just... frustrating, aye? You get used to how people feel around you, and then it's like not being able to look at their faces or hear the tone of their voices."

"Like they're not the same as they were? Like something is fundamentally different about them?" he said, thin-lipped.

"No, like... like I'm missing out. I mean, I know most people don't even get to do what I do, but... you start to rely on it, aye?"

"Mmm," Will nodded. "And happening to your girlfriend must be the worst of all; it's like...cutting off a key line of communication."

"Especially with her... well you know, issues."

"You might need to narrow that one down for me, there."

"Her being a werewolf. She's always kind of on a slow boil. It's nice sometimes, but it's good to... get a feel for where it's going?"

"...So you're not surprised when she's, what, bitey?"

"Something like that."

"I mean that's not weird, is it? Wanting to ride the wave instead of getting blindsided?"

"I think we're well beyond weird, but no, I think it's natural to want to use your power to be prepared for things. You're not one to like surprises, I gather."

"Well, I'm not above a little... mayhem and all. I guess I'd just gotten used to feeling the ebb and flow."

"Welcome to life for the rest of us. Sometimes, we just get caught up in the eddies and have to fight to keep our heads above water," he sighed.

"You ah... want to talk about it? Or is hitting things working for you lately?"

"Hitting things is a great way to not be unfair to people," Will sighed. "It's a great way to let out that aggression that you just want to push through people..."

"Well I mean... I don't disagree. Just... asking whether you want to use words or fists, aye?"

"Were you looking for some fisticuffs? That what dragged you over this way?"

"I'd be lying if I didn't admit I felt a bit of what you were doing over here..."

"Then punching first. And if we're still up for it afterwards, then maybe some talk."

"So what've we got here? Mostly smashing?"

"Yeah, that's what I was doing. Just...letting it all out in a place where no one actually gets hurt. I wouldn't want to actually punch the poor computers."

"Well you're sort of punching one," she says, gesturing around her, "But it gets better," she chuckles.

"Well, yeah. Just like when you gashed me in the forest that one night. It's fine to be a little rougher when things heal."

"And to be fair, you were asking for that," Sam smirks as she starts to put on mass in preparation for smashing.

"Why do you think I joined the X-Teams to begin with? Part of it is the adrenaline junkiness."

"Do you even do adrenaline?"

"...I mean, technically no, usually. Semantics! Sam-antics?"

"If Sam-antics are that fun, perhaps I need a marketing team."

"You've got a hype girl already, albeit a bit of a snarler."

"Nothing wrong with snarling. Adds spice."

"Didn't say anything was wrong with it," Will said, mildly. "We all have our tastes."

"Guess you two have been hanging out?"

"Some, yeah. She's got a...refreshing straightforward view of things, which is nice. 'Cause life is too complex."

"So she's got the stamp of approval?" She smirks.
