Locker Rooms - This...seems odd

The site of the recently restored Braddock Lighthouse. Aircraft hangars and other X-Men facilities, including a Cerebra unit and the Danger Room have been constructed around the foundations of the lighthouse.

Locker Rooms - This...seems odd

Postby Trev Anderson » Fri Apr 14, 2017 8:47 pm

Trev was sprawled on his back in the women's locker room, legs hanging out of a shower stall, water running, apparently unconscious.

The first thing Trev noticed as how much his head hurt.

The second thing was that he was under a steady stream of hot water.

He finally noticed that he was wearing his jeans but no shirt. He sat up woozily and looked around, blinking water out of his eyes. "What the hell..."

Sam storms in angrily, still in her training uniform.

"WHERE IS HE?" She shouts, heading for the stall she'd been in.

Trev who was definitely in that stall, lets out a rather undignified yelp as Sam's shout startled him. "Holy shit, Sam, what's going on?"

Trev winced as a vivid mental image of Sam laying naked, with a hole in her chest, and near death flashed before his eyes with a stabbing pain in his temple.

"Why...wait. You...you got..."

"Fuck what the hell is happening?"

"Not here... then where?"

She frowns.

"Outside..."

"Get anyone you can find," she calls to Trev. "We've got invaders."

She starts out of the showers again.

"Why do I have this strange memory of you being stabbed and bleeding out in her--oh god I'm in the women's room!" Trev realized as he was in the middle of getting up and chasing Sam out the door.

"Fucking aliens?" he grumbled, trying to put his game face on and catch up to Sam. He was still drenched, shirtless but wearing jeans, and running in shower shoes.

"Alright," Trev said mostly to himself as he slowed his pace and the extremely pissed ginger raced outside.

"I...I should probably put some clothes on," he murmured to himself, running back to the men's room and finding his clothes still in his open locker. Which seemed...mostly familiar?

He shook his head, dried off with his towel and put on a fresh uniform since shit seemed to be going down, then began systematically wandering the point to see who else he could find.

Natalie kneels next to Cam, feeling for his pulse as the rest of her mind leaps into the network, connecting herself to Ashlie's network if possible.

Searching for Ashlie's signal Natalie comes across a bootup sequence currently attempting to bring the headmistress back online. There's a brief error log associated with it.

Okay, Natalie thinks, Guess I get to play Ashlie while she boots.

She descends into the system, compartmentalizing the security cameras on the grounds so she can keep an eye there. Then she sets up a special connection to every phone that Dr. McCoy owns or is assigned in the system, giving him the robo-call from Hell.

Code: Select all
Dr. McCoy, I've got Cam in the situation room. Weak pulse and exceptionally hot. What should I do with him?

It probably gets a bit creepy as the cameras in the Point begin watching Natalie's body in motion. To Natalie, it's almost like navigating someone in a video game if the video game had crappy camera angles. Her body makes it to the hangar, grabbing the cold packs in a bucket and a stretcher in her other hand, she drags both back to the situation room.

Her face smiles as she sees Will take part in exploding one of the Skrulls on the grounds, although that causes Dr. McCoy to get a strange text message:

He's shivering. Unconscious.

Her mind continued to compartmentalize, making sure important systems were properly monitored.

The camera in the situation room shifts and focuses in on the device that Cam brought with him. Her body moves and turns the device over, showing the camera more of it.

She ponders that for a moment. It's good that her brain is focused elsewhere at the moment or those memories might mess with her more. She stows them aside for the moment though.

After a bit, Natalie would notice signals from the central computer core shoot out into the network at large and bloom out into complex patterns as Ashlie's bootup sequence finishes and she begins cycling through secondary systems. For a bit she can see the carrier signal pulse as it accesses different avenues of attempting to connect. Cables, various WiFi spots, even the satellite dish briefly attempts to establish a connection with something before the program concludes no connection is available. Other, maintenance programs start checking the Point and this is when Ashlie detects Natalie's presence.

Code: Select all
>> What happened?
>> I am missing several minutes of memory data and the Point's timestamps all seem to have been resynchronized.

As she's attempting to contact Natalie she establishes a network connection to the Internet, if only to do what she's never had to before. Ask the time to have a definite marker by which to reorient her frame of reference.

I think the point blew up and Cam restored it. The others were fighting aliens on the lawn, but that looks like it's over now. Doctor McCoy is on his way here.

Over in Natalie's filespace, a video compiles of hazy images as her memories try to work themselves into a shareable form which is immediately shared with Ashlie without conscious command from Natalie.

Ashlie tries to make the most of the memories-turned-video and she gets a rough idea, although the details might be lost in having to decipher the hazy mess that humans call memory.
