"Because she isn't ready to sleep, yet."

Tereza crosses her arms and waits patiently.

"You were in danger. She pulled your fat from the fire. You don't know if the danger is yet passed, do you?"

"I'm almost certain it has for the time being."

"Then maybe she isn't."

"Trust goes both ways between you. You don't trust her to steer, and she... knows you were hurt."

"And if she's just being skittish and making life difficult because of it?"

"She's giving you good eyes. She's giving you weapons."

"That I don't need or want at the moment," Tereza sighs in frustration.

"Until you both trust each other, neither knows what the other wants, or believes the answer when they ask."

"I can't always trust her priorities. They're... suspect at the best of times."

"And she cannot trust you to take care of yourself."

"Then maybe she and I need to have another heart-to-heart."

"You can't always expect each other to stay on one side, yes?"

"She's always sticking her nose into my thoughts, so I suppose no, we can't."

"So maybe the line down the center serves neither of you."
