Issue 1 - Mission Briefing

[Narrator]

It's early Sunday afternoon when all the X-Team members are suddenly alerted and called in to the Point. X-23 is pacing around the briefing room, looking restless while Ashlie is sitting at one of the consoles, going through various data feeds and shots of security cameras. She seems to be quietly talking to somebody though she's not visibly wearing any headset.

[Toshiro Narumi]

Tosh showed up promptly, both anxiety and excitement written on his face. His niggling reservations about Minamida were responsible for some of that anxiety.

[Tereza Rozanov]

Tereza sat in the back, looking disgruntled. Luckily she'd been on her way back from London already, or she would have missed this entirely.

[Michaela Havlin]

Michaela waited patiently, thumbing around on her phone and reading her e-mail while she waited for the briefing to start.

[Samantha McManus]

"Well, this looks... terribly serious," Sam mumbles as she comes in.

[Carlos Vasquez]

Carlos was next, smiling and waving to people as he sat down in a chair.

[Nash Riley]

Nash walked in and looked around the room before taking a seat.

[Haley Crusek]

Haley arrived tapping on her phone furiously in one hand, a to go cup of coffee in the other.

[Nailah Weaver]

Nailah quietly slips in and sits down in the back, nervously glancing around.

[Narrator]

"Alright, looks like almost everyone is here." X-23 says, looking around the room.

"I'll make this quick since we're in a little bit of a hurry. About 15 minutes ago the silent alarm in Maldon's bank was triggered. They send the police to investigate but they lost contact. Team 1 is going to head out and investigate what's going on. The police knows you're coming. This is a chance to make a good impression on the town, so make this count. They took out the security cameras and we don't know much of what's going on inside, so be on your toes, even if you're probably just up against humans."

"At the same time we've picked up a number of disturbances from around the harbor, which we believe is a distraction for the bank job. Team 2 is going to investigate and possibly detain whoever is causing this. We've had all kinds of strange reports about unusual lights and explosions but we suspect it's just gunfire that people are misreporting."

"Any questions?"

[Toshiro Narumi]

"Are hostages likely?

[Laura Kinney]

"It's Sunday and the bank was closed, so unless they brought their own, probably not."

[Onyx]

"What are the number and distribution of the disturbances, ma'am?" Onyx asks.

[Ashlie Minamida]

"Eleven within the last 30 minutes, called in from these locations." Ashlie speaks up and brings a map of Maldon up on the largest screen. "The disturbances likely originate from one of the nearby warehouses."

[Haley Crusek]

"Do we have stuff to detain them with?" Haley asked, looking intently at the map. Her phone was away and her usual bubbly attitude seem to have been replaced with a bit of a grim game face.

[Laura Kinney]

"Zip-ties. If you feel you need a way to take someone down beyond your powers we have tasers and riot-foam throwers, though the later are a little unwieldy."

[Tereza Rozanov]

"You're a telekinetic and you'll have a three-headed dog with you, I would think you should be able to secure them."

[Haley Crusek]

"Well. It gets a bit hard if I'm trying to hold onto five people while trying to grab several more. Zip ties should work though," she nodded.

[Tereza Rozanov]

"Only question I have is when do we leave."

[Laura Kinney]

"Unless anybody has any more questions, now. We have two vans that'll take you to the sites."
