[X-Men: Next Class] Wolf In The Woods

It didn't happen... but it WOULD HAVE BEEN AWESOME

[X-Men: Next Class] Wolf In The Woods

Postby Tereza Rozanov » Wed Apr 04, 2018 2:39 pm

Tereza's large half-wolf form darts through the woods, chasing some scent or other as he lets herself unwind. The full moon's coming and while it's not quite the potential slaughterfest hat it used to be, she still always gets extra antsy around this time. Spending more time as some variation of wolf takes the edge off somewhat and so that's what she's doing.

Trev was fond of the woods, especially at night. When he was a student, he went out here to a small glade in the forest at night to clear his head to break up long nights of studying, he snuck out here with a date or two to be alone, and he often, as he was doing tonight, came out here to work through some kata away from the prying eyes of anyone or anything that would judge his admittedly imperfect technique (though it was worlds better than what it used to be).

Trev whipped a bo around him, attacking imaginary opponents and dancing back and forth in an elaborate X pattern. A sound of rapidly advancing snapping branches stopped him in at the end of an attack and he froze, trying to see which way the noise came from.

Eyes of glowing white glinted in the darkness and a large, but light colored, form slinks through the darkness around the clearing. She knew who he was and that he wasn't a threat. That didn't mean she couldn't play with him a bit first.

"...who's there?" he called out as he scanned his surroundings, finally spotting the eyes. Best case scenario: this was a former classmate, many of whom he saw joining him on staff, playing a prank. Worst case: classes hadn't even started and there was already an attack on school.

"...Steph? Tereza?...I hope?"

He remained in a low guarded stance, ready to make a lot of noise or get airborne if he had to.

"Still skittish," said a growly voice. "Some things don't change." She moves out into the clearing, silver-white pelt catching the moonlight and almost attaining a sort of luminescence.

Trev breathed a sigh of relief and lowered the bo. "It's not like places with Xavier in the title don't historically attract all manner of shenanigans, so excuse me for being on guard." he smirked.

"You look awesome, as always. How's life?"

“Interesting to be back in the UK. I’m curious to see how some of the kids adjust, and more importantly if we stop attracting so much damn trouble.”

"You know we won't. One of the reasons I'm here. My daughter's one of the others. So if you see someone who looks like me in your history class, I'm not playing a prank on you."

“You having a kid old enough to be in my class sounds like a prank already, but I’m guessing that’s one of the complications,” he smirked.

“She a shifter too, or just icy, or something fun from the x-gene roulette wheel?”

"Icy, but full body conversion. Not sure how they managed that. She's cryokinetic as well, but we're still working on the finer points of that."

“So we’ll keep jackets handy for bad control days. I don’t miss those. Poor kids. I’m sure she’ll be fine—doubt any child of yours would be un-awesome.”

"Of course not," she says, "She's her own kind of awesome though. We're hoping being here can really help her grow and get her out from under the shadow the Programs still have on her."

“I try to keep things as normal as possible in my classroom. Normal as we can manage here at least. I’ll keep you in the loop if I see anything concerning. I have a habit of calling after they do something great too, so it isn’t always bad news.”

"I was mostly kidding," he chuckled. "Being single for a while is probably a good thing, all things considered."

He looked down at the wedding ring still on his finger "Should probably go to the infirmary and get help taking this damn thing off."

“Sounds like a quick way to lose a finger, unless they’re really good” he chuckled. “At that rate I should probably just have you bite it off.”

She nods, "Yeah. Only bitten one person in my time. Not looking to make more. Being locked away three nights a months is not what I'd consider a perk. Only people safe around me during that time are Sam, Vivienne, and Isolde."

“Might have given me something to talk about with my ex, but...” he smirked.

“It’s good to see a friendly face again though. I’ve been hiding out too much for my own good lately. Are you actually teaching music class this year? We may have to compare notes if so,"

"Officially, yes. Though it's more like guitar class. I'll let you handle the 'this is a quarter note' crowd." She grins, which still manages to be disturbing despite years of practice.

Trev didn’t seem to be bothered by the grin, disturbing as it was. 7 years married to a werewolf may have had something to do with it.

“Not what I signed up for when I said I could do voice lessons and theatre on top of history and flying, but I guess I can make it work,” he chuckled.

“I’m not actually sure any of us have much of a concept of mundane. So maybe we’ll actually find out what that’s like here,” he smirked.

“If those assholes do come calling, though, I’ll help you give them an earful. I’m not quite as useless as I once was.”
