What If Xavier's Were Like Hogwarts?

Mostly just spitballing on this and I'm sure I'm forgetting or leaving out something, but here's the pitch:
Housed in a castle hidden away in Scotland, Xavier’s University was originally founded as King James University For Paranormal Study in the 1700s to provide a safe place for magically gifted individuals to study magic and learn from one another. The university was renamed in the 1990s after the man considered its greatest headmaster who protected the world from a wizard named Apocalypse.

The university organizes the students into four houses based on their primary specialty. The houses currently bear the names of mages who assisted Xavier in his defeat of Apocalypse. House Marie houses the students who specialize in the manipulation of life energy for healing or other purposes. House Grey is home to those who work with the magic of the mind. House Qadir houses the elementalists, magic workers who shape the elements to their whim. House Darkhölme houses those who specialize in the magic of change, either themselves, others, or inanimate objects. Each of the houses has a common room and dormitories for the students.

Magic is intended to be kept secret from non-magical folk. The various world governments are aware at high levels that magical folk exist, but they’re left to police themselves with their own organizations as long as they keep things under control.

Most magical practices require gestures and words in some respect, though these seem to be focusing methods. It’s not uncommon for an experienced or talented wizard to have some minor enchantments at their beck and call without the need for their focusing tools. More complicated enchantments are permanently worked into the wielder or an item to ease in calling them up if the wizard deems them that necessary. Though most wizards study primarily the area of magic that they are most talented in, cross-discipline studies are encouraged to round out a wizard’s repertoire.
