"Oh that? Doesn't work that way, but you didn't know that. Bites and sometimes claws," she said, shifting her hand into a furry, taloned shape before returning it back to its normal appearance.

"More's the pity. You're a good-looking woman and I'm sure you've broken more than a few hearts."

"Didn't pay that part much mind. Why get your hopes up if it isn't going to work, aye?"

"Though I guess with 'our kind' there's... less holding back."

"We're certainly a free-wheeling lot when it comes to certain urges. One of my friends describes it as 'the three Fs'." She got up and went to fish in the fridge for more beer.

"Feeding," she gestured at the food. "Fighting," she struck a combative pose. "And Fucking," she said with a glance at the bedroom.

"So lonesome meets lonesome," she shrugs.

"I... don't really know how to answer that. I've just... usually backed off when I start seeing shite that nobody else does."

"I suppose you wouldn't know the difference. I didn't at first. I'll let you know if I see one." She grinned. "So any other things that haven't made sense? Other than 'everything'?"

"Lots of theories. One is that the 'curse' is as much of spirit as body, so it puts us partially in touch with the other side. I would think that would more appropriately apply to the vampires, but I don't think many of them can see the other side." She shrugged, "I do have to say that for a 'curse' it's pretty fucking awesome."

"Good, because there's no way that we know of to 'fix' it," she said. "So... if you want to sleep in a proper bed tonight, you'll have to share with me. It's a big bed. If the concept bothers you, you can have the futon."

"Not that so much," she says, shucking off her shitkicker boots.

"Just a habit I haven't been able to shake since the bite. Can't bloody sleep worth a damn otherwise."

"Suit yourself," she smirks, shaking her head as she strips down the rest of the way. The ink evidently covers her whole back, an intricate pattern of knotwork with two heraldic wolves facing each other on opposite sides of her spine.

She made contact, her fingers slowly tracing the knotwork and tracing the outlines of the wolves. Finally she said quietly, "It's beautiful. I love it."

She pointed at several just below her rib cage, "Monster hunter. Pack hunted him and tore him to shreds for that." She turned around, sitting in front of Sam. There was a jagged scar along one shoulder blade and another pair of rough ones close to her kidneys.

"Shoulder blade was a silver knife wielded by a vampire. Lower back was a brawl with a rival pack. They're not here anymore. I think they moved up to York or maybe to Birmingham."
