"Natural born, yes. Human child, no. Atleast not without the proper training and blessings."

Tereza held up a hand, "So what *are* we looking for exactly? Because now you've lost me."

"...I get the feeling you're reading from two different dictionaries," she sighs.

"Good news, you're both equally confusing to me."

She huffed and shook her head. "This human male with a large black wolf pup in a cage."

"That can't be easy to transport. There would be a number of people asking questions..." She frowned and looked deep in thought. "I'll call the pack, see if anyone's heard any rumors. When would he have hit town?"

"Not exactly my bag, but I'm game to crack some skulls for a pretty lady."

Tereza went into the bedroom and they could hear her on her phone.

"Yeah, it's Tereza."

"No, no. She's fine. I think she'll be a good fit. I actually have a favor to ask."

"Strange individual showed up at my door. Says her name is Vivienne. She says she's looking for a man transporting a wolf cub."

"No, not like that. An actual honest-to-goodness wolf cub."

"Yeah."

"Well, I'm going to have Sister look, but Vivienne says the mortal police are after the guy and I know you know a guy there. Would you mind poking your nose around?"

"Sister seemed to think I should help her, so that's what I'm going to do."

"No, I'm not going to call the whole pack together for this. I'll take Sam and this Vivienne and we'll deal with him."

"Yes, yes. I'll be careful. I swear, you're like an overprotective big brother."

"Yeah, I'll keep the line open. Call me when you know something."

"I avoid humans and their cities whenever possible. I was also told to avoid all who were "once human" as well." There was no malice in her tone.

"Deal breaker? I am unfamiliar with that human word. My next pilgrimage was not to take place for another five years." She finally took some time to look around the room instead of watching Sam's every twitch.

In the pictures on the wall, it was possible that Vivienne might see some wild places she was familiar with. Tereza came back out to the living area and knelt next to Sister's cushion. "Okay, Sister, I need some help. We're looking for a lost pup, stolen from his family. Think you can help us?" The spirit seemed to say something to Tereza that was hard to catch before barreling out one of the windows. "She'll be back to us if she finds something."

"Unusual, I was unaware we were negotiating one." She looked around and chose a place on the couch. "Yes, being cursed is a great burden."

"I assume that now we wait? How is it she came to be bound to you?"

"She's not 'bound' to me. She's my friend. I take care of her and she takes care of me," Tereza said, sounding a little miffed. "What I'm going to do is finish my breakfast, get a shower, and then get ready to go out. Once those things are done, at the very least, then we can start looking ourselves."

"...didn't even eat my eggs yet," she says, looking back to her plate.

"I'd ask how you like yours, but I'm guessing fried eggs are a bit new."

She heads over and snags a couple pieces of bacon for her plate, and offers the bacon plate to Viv.

"It appears that for you the definition of the term "bound" has changed. A spirit can not remain unless..."tied" to something or in your case someone. This can be achieved both willingly and unwillingly. Judging by your reaction this bond is willing. Unusual for a Cursed One to attract such a spirit, but there were those who, in life, chose different paths. This may have been one."

"I'm sorry. Kind of finding my way blind, here."

She digs into her breakfast.

"I got bit about five years ago. She's the first I've met like me, and I only met her last night."

"And you're... I don't know. You smell right, but you're terra incognita to me even more than she is."

"I see. The I shall clarify."

She placed her hand and turned her head to her left, with a swift well practiced movement there was a trick of the light, or a heat mirage waver, or perhaps Sam blinked, but in Vivienne's place there was a large black wolf with blue eyes, a leather cloak in her mouth. With another controlled flick of her head, the cloak flipped back over her shoulder and Vivienne was back.

Sam blinks in surprise, this being rather a new trick in a series of new tricks.

"...well, you could about knock me over with a feather, there."

"Now I feel a bit silly for saying you were pretty, but... I was wrong, you're bloody gorgeous."

"Which is... probably a bizarre thing for me to say and I'll just hush up now," she says with a faint flush.

"I'm just a guest here. I'll grant that we've been... informal, but not like that."

"I've got no baseline for this, aye? Sometimes the wolf still blindsides me."

"That's... not offensive, is it? Calling this my wolf?"
