[WAMH] All Messed Up With No Place to Go

After eating, Sam retreats from the flat as she lets Tereza and Tosh plan their attack.

After a short bit of nervous pacing, she heads to her motorcycle and pulls a ball from one of the saddle bags. Behind the restaurant, she starts throwing it up against the wall and catching it. It's fairly rhythmic, but by the sound of things she's definitely letting off some steam by how hard she's throwing it.

Sister phases through the wall, sitting a short distance away and watching the ball bounce back and forth.

"What do you think you're looking at?" She grumbles, narrowing her eyes at the spirit and throwing the ball again.

"A ball" was the quiet response. The spirit's head still tracked the ball. "You are angry?"

She tenses as the spirit speaks.

"...not used to being able to hear you," she mutters.

"I'm angry at the bastard who got away."

"He got in my head, and he got away so he's still laughing for what he did."

"Then he's still in your head," Sister commented, turning her vaguely luminescent gaze towards Sam.

"What do you mean by that?"

"You are letting your prey frustrate you. You are the predator, *you* push the prey. If you let the prey push you, then are you really the predator?"

"Well it's going to be bloody fixed soon, isn't it?"

"Is it? What if he flees again?"

"Then I'll find him again until I put him in the ground. He can't run forever."

"That's more like the predator I see." She floated up and sat on one of Sam's shoulders. Sam could almost feel a light weight there, but it may have just been expectations. "And you will have a pack to hunt with you. You will not be alone."

"It's just too much happening at once," she grumbles. "I know she wants to make certain I'm not bloody crazy before she lets me meet the rest and all, but it's like I've had a brick taken to what worked for me before."

"And I mean some of it's bloody wonderful. Not having to hold it in last night was... I don't even know how to describe it."

"But it still feels like I'm off the bloody map."

"Trust your nose. Trust your instincts. She will call the pack together. She will tell them to accept you and they will do so." Sister's head snaked around to meet Sam's gaze and Sam got the instant impression of a huge wolf that briefly made even her feel small. "She will do it because I say you are fit for the pack."

She winces at the sudden impression, blinking back the shock.

"...suppose you're the boss, then."

"Because I needed you to understand something. Everyone in the pack brings their skills, their something special. They need each other. They support each other. The entire pack takes responsibility for the rest of its members. You'll be a good fit. And aside from everything you bring to the pack," Sister looked up towards the apartment, "You've been good to her and for her."

"There's... that, aye." She says, following the spirit's gaze up to the apartment.

"Still figuring out why she puts up with me."

"Kindred spirit, maybe. I don't know her mind, I just know what I observe. I know you've been alone, but you're not now. Take advantage of that."

"You're probably not the one to look for perspective on that I never really thought 'how the moon looks on her pelt' would be a selling point for me."
