If one looked at the Rift from the outside, Intercept mused, it would probably be a strange looking thing. Especially when it was in the process of a 'manifest'. Currently, Nailah's room was well on it's way to completion. But several other quarters had shifted to make room for where Core had decided the room should go. No one ever had problems finding their quarters though or if they did they hadn't said anything... which was weird now that she had time to think about it. Each agent's quarters were decorated to suit their tastes and the worlds they came from, a little bit of home away from anything that might qualify as home.
Intercept's room was the exception. It was spartan by Rift standards and only had a few things from home. She was the Rift's first agent, the first person Core had snatched out of their home Earth to work for the Rift. Other agents had followed, but Intercept had taught Core about the importance of things from home and the quarters of every agent since then had been completely furnished. She could have Core remanifest her rooms, make them more comfortable, but she really spent so little time in them that she didn't see the need. No one else could talk to Core the way she could, so it felt like an abuse of the privilege. So here she stood, outside the newly manifesting door to Nailah's quarters, watching another agent's home coalesce into being.
