[Halfway] A Dark And Stormy Night

It didn't happen... but it WOULD HAVE BEEN AWESOME

[Halfway] A Dark And Stormy Night

Postby Natalie Denisov » Fri Mar 03, 2017 4:29 pm

"You're sure?" Intercept looks concerned. Her brain skims through the information Core provides her. "All our agents that will fit that dimension are the next thing to rookies. One of them *is* a rookie." She frowns deeper. "You realize the risk this presents? I want quick extraction online for this." Still obviously not happy, her voice sounds over the address system, "Weaver, McManus, and Benson to the briefing room in 15 minutes."

A short time later, Sam walks in grumbling, a large mug of coffee tightly clutched in her hand.

She sits down and sips it sullenly.

Basil didn't rush into the briefing room so much as casually stroll into it. He doesn't seem overly concerned about the urgency of the situation, but considering he was on time it was probably all for show.

"Been drinkin'?" He asks of Samantha's coffee cup with a sly smirk as he pushes his curls asymmetrical behind his ear.

Nailah, still not at all used to the whole situation in general, walks in and quietly sits down, glancing around the room. She's wearing a suit the Nexus whipped up for her that'd almost look like an old 30s sci-fi version of a space-suit if it wasn't for the lack of a helmet and the knee-length skirt.

The panels behind Intercept lit up and began displaying maps of an England on something labeled at 'Earth-668'. There was a bright red dot north of London that had all sorts of highlighted commentary on it, which made no sense to anyone else in the room. "Core has identified a possible dimensional incursion in Earth-668. This isn't the first time this particular Earth has had these sorts of problems. It seems to be a magnet for them for some reason that we have yet to ascertain. 668 as a world is technologically aligned in the time period before the Americas experienced the Great Depression. We believe that we have an intelligent actor or actors here who are actively pushing the dimensional incursion."

"You say that like you ever sober up," Sam says to Basil before turning her attention to the briefing.

"What's wrong with dresses?" she asks, in part because she's suddenly self-conscious about her get-up and has no idea what kind of dress-code applies in this place, much less the worlds these other people are from.

"Motorbikes weren't exactly growing on trees during the twenties in England, despite what popular fiction likes to tell you. I doubt we'll be running into many of them.

If we do, I'll drive and you can sit in the sidecar. I'm sure you'd look quite snug and cozy in there." He joked.

"We'll be inserting you into London. The target is a mansion called Gorhambury House in St Albans."

"Given that, from what little we've been able to gather, Gorhambury is a well-to-do estate, I'd say that the actors are probably among the staff or the residents of the house. Either way, we believe them to be natives to Earth-668. Given Earth-668's reputation, I'd watch for magic over science on this one."

"Basil understands the high society, Nailah understands the time period but she's a rookie, no offense, Nailah." She locks eyes with Sam, "You're my experienced bruiser here. You know I can't send Tere-za or Thresher on this one. Just because it's proper doesn't mean it will stay that way. Magic users on 668 have a tendency of getting more than they bargain for."

"The dress up is the best part." He comments to the other two agents. Anyone following him would note he was already dressing down as they walked, un-doing his tie and unbuttoning his shirt as he moved towards 'wardrobe'.
