NAME: Mitch Davis
Code Name: Portal
Height: 5'9"
Weight: 200 lbs
Age: 19
Home: Belsize Park, London
Unusual Physical Quirks: A prosthetic right arm, provided by X-Corp.

Powerset: Mitch is a teleporter, though one with a rather different set of limitations and benefits. Mitch can not just teleport from one place to another. Instead, he can "connect" doorways -- entering a door in one place, and exiting though a different door somewhere else entirely.

Mitch has to know where both doors are in order for the power to function. It is easier, though not required, for him to have used the target door normally in the past -- just knowing a door exists would mean it is possible for him to use his powers to teleport there, but it would be far more difficult and have a higher possibility of unwanted side effects.

A "door", for the purposes of this power, is a barrier by which an entry is opened or closed. Mitch can not go through a door which has been removed from its hinges, nor can he go through a door which is locked. He can go through unusual 'doors' -- cabinets, trap doors, vault doors, car doors -- but the more the dimensions of a doorway differ from the one he goes through, the more problems may occur.

Other people may travel through the doors with him, as long as they maintain contact with Mitch.

Mitch is not 100% accurate at using his powers yet, and sometimes will end up somewhere unintended, sometimes even in violation of the aforementioned rules.

Backstory: Mitch's parents thought their kid was a bit of a handful. Take your eyes off him, and he'll end up somewhere entirely different in the house. Just like any other kid, right?

Well, most other kids actually bother to traverse the area between two points. Mitch has always been able to pop in one place, pop out another. His range, at first, was very limited -- just inside his own house -- but as he grew, it became larger and larger. Not being a physical mutation, Mitch found it easy to keep secret, and got into more than his fair share of trouble with it -- usually, nothing he couldn't work his way out of, or at least, nothing that got him more than some detention from time to time.

When he was 15, Mitch ran into a problem. His normal route from home to school involved leaving his bedroom and exiting a rarely-used, out-of-the-way janitor's closet. Unfortunately for him, on this day, the caretaker had been behind his rounds, and was only just closing the door and locking it just as Mitch came through. The accident had two major outcomes: First, that Mitch's powers were no longer a secret, and secondly, that Mitch's right arm was left back at home as his portal snapped shut.

It's been years since the accident, and Mitch has mostly gotten used to his fancy new arm. He is perhaps a bit more cautious about his portal usage, but he believes it was a one-in-a-million accident.

Personality: Mitch is generally a good kid. You know, generally. The ability to pop in one place and pop out another brings with it its temptations, but Mitch has never used it for more than a little bit of petty theft. He's one to go in and swipe a candy bar, not defraud the Bank of London. That being said, his power opened up doors to many different avenues of exploration, which he takes advantage of.

He's also pretty lazy, and will use his power rather than cross his own house. With his accuracy not at 100%, this can often lead to problems.

Does an object or being brought with him have to be able to fit through both doors in order to make the journey?

Does he have to go fully through to take a passenger, or can he "fling" something through and duck back out?

Under normal operation, Mitch can't change his size or anything, so yes -- everything must fit through the doors on both ends. I did leave the 'unwanted side effects' undefined for potential future power development and/or wacky hijinx, but he can't, like, go through a giant-sized door and become giant-sized, or squeeze through a dollhouse door or something.

Mitch does not have to go fully through a door to take someone through, but he has to go through at least partially -- if he loses contact with someone, his power no longer effects them, which might well be a problem if they're halfway through the doorway. So he cant, like, throw a baseball through the doorframe while standing on one side, but he can stand on one side of the door, have his normal throwing motion take his hand through the doorway, release the ball on the OTHER side of the door, and then draw his hand back.
