Power: Miriam is a telepath with a lot of potential. She has an incredible knack for slipping into someone's subconscious mind. This comes at the expense of being able to easily read surface thoughts like most telepaths do and the things she picks up from a subconscious are much less straight-forward than consciously formulated thoughts. It works as a two-way street as well, pushing her subconscious thoughts into other peoples' heads as much as she pulls them into her own, often without noticing the later herself and it's what she has been training to get under control first and foremost. She finds it incredibly easy to slip into mindscapes, which includes the Astral plane in the sense that it can be a mindscape of the global subconscious. What she can do once inside someone's head is heavily dependent on the person.

Personality: Miriam can be very withdrawn and guarded, simply because it takes work for her to not have other people bleed into her own head and she picks the people she interacts with very carefully. since the better she knows someone the easier she finds it to distinguish between her own thoughts and those of the other person. She likes to dance like nobody is watching, mostly when nobody is actually watching. She can be a bit melodramatic and likes to consider herself bit of a tortured soul.

Description: She's very fashion-conscious, though she prefers classy to flashy. She keeps her black hair at shoulder-length and her eyes are a brilliant blue. When she does make eye-contact it quickly becomes obvious that she's not as shy as she often appears and her gaze can be a little unsettling at times.

Background: Miriam's powers manifested early at age 11 and if X-Corp hadn't intervened probably would have caused significant damage to her psyche. When she was found she was with her sister, who had been hit by a car when the two were playing in the street. The young girl seemed almost catatonic, only reacting when they tried to separate her from her one year younger sister, making the paramedics fall unconscious as her power lashed out at them. Thankfully someone recognized the situation as a mutant power gone wrong and X-Corp got involved. Unfortunately Miriam's sister died from her injuries before they could get them to a hospital.
The telepathic tutor and counselor who was assigned to her helped her work through the experience of having her mind being intertwined with that of her sister as she was bleeding out and after several years managed to recover mentally as well as somewhat come to terms with the loss of her sister. The experience still left a mark on her though and she has decided to pursue a career in psychology, for which she decided to enroll at the University.
