Name: Melissa Terrance
Codename: Seer
Age: 36
Country of Origin: Scotland,United Kingdom
Hometown: Edinburgh
Power: Melissa is a telekinetic and a telepath. Her telekinesis has compensated for her blindness, giving her a variation of echolocation with her telekinetics feeding her information about what is around her. This detail doesn't provide her with color though, so without her telepathy to give her impressions, her "vision" is only in black and white. This adaption gives her a fine degree of manipulation with her telekinesis, but she doesn't as much raw force as some telekinetics only capable of basic shields and blasts about the strength of an average human punch.
Her telepathy is fairly standard in power level, though physical contact with the subject makes it more effective.
Personality: Melissa has been "passing" in the mundane world for quite some time, so she's grown adept at hiding her abilities and not advertising them. She was never suited for the "hero work" they did at the Institute, though she sees a need for it and supports those who do.
Description: Melissa favors nice-looking blindfolds over the typical sunglasses to hide her eyes, which already marks her out. She generally keeps her brown hair pulled back into a ponytail and her wardrobe tends to strike a monochromatic note, dealing mostly in blacks.
Background: Melissa was born blind, so when she started 'seeing', her parents were more than a little disturbed. After X-Corp managed to get her sent to the state-side Institute, she blossomed, gaining greater control of her powers as well as a first rate education. She parleyed that into a degree in psychology from a prestigious university. She pursued a graduate degree until the death of her mother (and the resultant bills for her care) forced her to return home to help her father. She took a job as a counselor for a local school, finishing up her graduate studies piece meal.
The recent death of her father has forced her to come to terms with some things, one of which is that she cannot hope to 'pass' for much longer. She called up an old contact in X-Corp, using them to apply for a position as a psychology professor at the university in Maldon.
