Name: Shari
Age: 18(ish?)
Ethnicity: ???
Hometown: ???

Power: Shari is a shapeshifter. Her powers are somewhat limited, if not in scope then in her mastery over them. She's capable of changing her appearance and with enough time and effort can even mimic other people close enough to fool those familiar with them. She does seem to stick to roughly humanoid forms and she cannot deviate too far in total mass, but within those limits she's capable of blending organic features at will. The more significant the change the longer it takes and the more concentration it requires to establish. Changing takes her in the realm of minutes and upwards, so while her features don't require concentration to maintain they don't happen on the fly. They do however bestow her with the corresponding abilities. Cat's eyes let her see in the dark, muscle tone adds to her strength, scales provide some amount of protection and so on. Those do require her to have at least some knowledge of their workings, although some seem to almost come instinctively if not reliably and are almost always strange or unusual.

She also has a knack for picking up on accents and mannerisms, which could be part of her power or simply a skill that developed naturally along with her shapeshifting but adds to her ability to fit in with almost any group she chooses.

Personality: Shari tries to be optimistic, but she sometimes feels like the world is a little unfair, especially when it comes to the fact that she doesn't remember much of her life. And while she's fine with simply being who she is now, she still feels like she's missing some crucial information. She does have her own sense of identity but sometimes wonders if her ability to mimic people beyond the physical is part of her power or indicative of her sense of self being weaker than it would be if she remembered more of her life. Either way she considers it rude to straight up imitate people unless she has good reason to do so, preferring appearances that are her own.

She tries to be a good person, but tends to side with her own morals when they come into conflict with actual laws. She doesn't see the supposed harm in stealing food when you're starving or even picking the occasional pocket. She realizes it's wrong but also that sometimes you have no other options, especially when the best you can manage without an official identity is the occasional odd-job

Description: Shari's physical form is obviously up for debate. She's used to changing it often, but is at least aware of the fact that this is confusing for other people and makes it hard to be recognized. Mainly because that's what she's used it for a lot, feeling like there's somebody or something out there that is after her. Be it paranoia or not, she likes to change how she looks a lot if only because she has no base shape she is aware of and considers all of those shapes representative of herself. When interacting with the same group of people she does try to pick a default shape, which is usually that of a slightly androgynous young woman with two pale spots under each eye that most people assume are tattoos.

Background: It's only November, but among the throngs of people moving through the train station in London is one who is wearing an almost comically thick jacket. It doesn't help that it is clearly too large for the young woman wearing it, but most of the looks she's getting from passerbys are of pity, assuming correctly that she's homeless. She weaves through the crowd with determination, occasionally throwing a glance over her shoulder and finds a door leading into a public restroom. Disappearing inside the crowd flows on without her, people stopping here and there or breaking off to stop at shops or ticket machines. It's a good 15 minutes later when the jacket emerges from the bathroom again, this time being worn by a middle-aged man who actually fills it out throwing the same nervous glances through the crowd while someone behind him yells something about being a pervert. Disregarding the objection the man swiftly moves towards the platform where two trains are waiting, seemingly without paying attention to the train's destination. He hops onto the train and pushes his way through the people settling into their seats inside for several cabins and as he occasionally comes into view through the windows his features change bit by bit. His hair goes from brown to black. Grows to about shoulder-length. His stature diminishes slightly over the course of a cabin. His features soften into that of a different woman than before. Finally she stops at a door, pops her head out to look down the length of the platform and at the people boarding the train. At a cue that presumably makes sense to her she jumps out of the train again, almost knocking someone trying to board out of the way. She shouts a quick "Sorry!" as she sprints across the platform and towards the other train, jumping on board as a warning note denotes the imminent departure. When the door hisses close behind her she lets out a sigh of relief and she heads into the cabin proper to settle into one of the worn-through seats, dropping her backpack onto the seat next to her.

Shari is homeless and has been for as long as she can remember. Which, to be fair, doesn't reach all that far back. She's restlessly moved across Europe, making do as best as she could. She's tried holding down the occasional job, but being a mutant always caused people to shoo her away sooner rather than later. And she's okay with that, because she's restless anyway, never feeling too safe anywhere and convinced that someone is after her. Although if you asked her to tell her why she could only vaguely shrug and mumble a non-answer. So she slowly made her way from country to country until she ultimately ended up in London where Mutant Town has provided her with at least a temporary haven.
