Power: Murphy can mimic the attributes and traits of any animal she's physically touched. For example, she can mimic a wolf's keen sense of hearing or smell, a bear's strength or powerful jaws, or a fish's gills and ability to swim.
There is technically no limit to how many different traits she can mimic, but the more she has active at any one time the less "human" she becomes mentally. If she mimics too many animals at once, she can become feral, reacting instinctively and without rational thought.
Description: Murphy is a tall girl, nearly 6'5", with an athletic frame. She has long, wild brown hair and golden eyes.
Background: Murphy was born and raised in the forest compound of a cult of survivalists who all believed the Apocalypse was imminent. She was brought up to be one of the last survivors of enlightened human civilization and her parents taught her hunting, fishing, and tracking alongside classic literature, mathematics, and the natural sciences.
Several years passed and every year the world didn't end was a year the cult lost a few more people. By the age of ten, Murphy and her parents were the only ones left living at the compound.
Then one cold winter, Murphy's parents died. She buried them by herself at the age of 13. And then she went on doing what she had always done. Hunting, fishing, farming and maintaining the compound.
When she was 14, she came across a wounded bear in the woods. It attacked her and scratched her arm badly. In a panic, Murphy's powers manifested. She took on the strength of the bear and fought back, driving it away.
For the next four years, Murphy lived in solitude, using her abilities to survive. It wasn't until she was 18 that she was found by a group of hunters that accidentally stumbled across her. They managed to convince her to come with them to the sheriff's office. When the sheriff discovered she was a mutant, a friendly deputy put in a call to X-Corp to come pick up the quiet girl.
