The constructs are able to affect the physical world, but their strength is dependent on how much ectoplasm Sofia can draw from. The amount of ectoplasm in an area is usually determined by the amount of people or sentient beings who have died in that area, except in certain "spiritually powerful" places that are magic or some nonsense like that.
Sofia can also see and speak with most spirits, but because of her abilities they tend to give her a wide berth. Most spirits prefer not to be twisted up into funny shapes on the whim of a girl who spends easily an hour or two putting on makeup.
Description: Sofia is taller than average with an athletic build. She has long, dark hair and dark eyes. She has a tan complexion and is usually not seen without her elaborate calaveras makeup.
Background: Sofia grew up the oldest child of two loving parents. She had a wonderful life and she was a happy, friendly girl with many friends.
Her powers manifested when she was fourteen years old. She was at a mall when she began to hear strange whispering voices. Suddenly she could feel some invisible substance twisting around her and things began flying. She fell to her knees screaming and crying.
Her friends managed to calm her down and get her out of the mall before the authorities could arrive. A few days later, her parents were approached by the Xavier Institute. Sofia and her parents agreed that the institute would be the best place for her. After four years at Xavier's, she graduated and decided to come to XU to study art.
