Will was not expecting that, and got spun around quite a few times before he could react. Fortunately, his was naturally pretty clay-ey, so even without shifting, he had apparently stuck to the bolder. That was the Skrull's mistake!
In addition, Will had spent many, many hours relaxing in the tumble dryer, so he was pretty good at keeping his head about him when the world was spinning. This is the sort of thing he trained for.
Quickly, Will started spreading himself out over the surface area of the boulder. The boulder, presumably, was self-propelling, but it's difficult to propel yourself when you're not in contact with the surface below -- when there's a buffer between you and the ground you're attempting to push off of. His skin also started turning brown. And goopy. With a faint hint of the smell of sugar and butter, as his skin--in fact, his entire body -- began to transform into sticky, goopy, rapidly cooling caramel.
Stick that up your friction coefficient and choke on it.
