Natalie had taken a little time to cool off after talking to Ashlie before approach Shari's room. She knocks on the door and calls out, "Shari, you there?"
"No no, come in!" Shari, or what most likely is Shari, is hanging on the ceiling. Some kind of mix between a lizard and a honeyglider, maybe 4 feet tall, stringing a garland of fake greenery across the room.
"Hmm? No no. For yours. To appease the Santa." she says, finishing to fix the other end of the green strand of plastic greenery to the wall and letting go of the ceiling, twisting right-side up as she glides to the floor and lands on all fours. "Will told me all about it."
"No, well, it's not that you're doing it wrong. Christmas is mostly an excuse for people to give gifts to each other. Parents tell kids that it's Santa that brings them presents."
"Oh." she says, seeming almost startled. "Uhm, yeah. Sure. Did... did you tell your mum about me?" she asks as the scaled sugarglider slowly wrenches itself into the brown-skinned human shaped she's apparently decided is her default 'human' shape.
"I told her I have a girlfriend. If you mean did I tell her the whole part about being an alien, I haven't yet. I figured I would do that when you were ready."
"There's one catch. The Headmistress wants me to keep her updated on where you are. I don't like it and tried to talk her out of it, but she insisted."
"I mean... does she? Most humans seem to think little green people from space are some kinda crazy joke. Or that they're evil. Not that they're really wrong on that either. You know, in general."
"I mean, she's your mum, so it's really up to you. I just don't want to freak her out, you know? Dunno if that would make me any less of an intruder..."
