The creature waves it's staff and some of the flames part around it, singing some branches around it, but some of the blaze coils around the staff and follows it back to the creatures sinewy hands and they catch on fire almost immediately. Most things are vulnerable to fire when it comes down to it, but the dried out husk living in a peaty bog goes up like cinders. It shrieks, lantern flailing wildly as it stumbles back and forth until it finally collapses in a smoke heap. And as the fire fades and tendrils of smoke curl up from what remains of the creature a different kind of light takes it's place. The gloomy blue glow of it's lantern seems to spread as the numerous wisps inside are released and briefly dance through the air, around tree trunks and branches before darting deeper into the woods and slowly fading into the night.
