It sounded too good to be true. And in truth, Colette sometimes worried that she was trapped in a dream of her own making, like the sitcom they'd been entombed in earlier that school year. Things were just so perfect, so fast. But hearing Basil giggle the way he did, seeing him smile, dashed any negative feelings she might have had, any dark thoughts that she was exploiting him. The young man was happy, and so was she.
